Sonicwall Global Vpn Client Windows 8.1

I was running Sonicwall Global VPN Client 4.7.3 on my Surface Pro/Windows 8 with no problems. After upgrading the Surface Pro to Windows 8.1 the Sonicwall GVPN client stopped working with numerous IPSEC errors. I uninstalled the Sonicwall GVPN client, rebooted, and installed Sonicwall GVPN Client 4.8.6.0826 (early release). The Sonicwall GVPN Client worked fine (I was able to establish a VPN session) and my wireless access worked fine. On the first reboot after installation and testing my wireless access stopped working and thus the Sonicwall GVPN Client no longer works.
I contacted SonicWALL chat support and they provided me with a beta of a Windows 8.1-compatible Global VPN which reports itself as v4.8.6.0826. So far it appears to be working, although I did need to enable DHCP-over-VPN and set the VPN's virtual adapter to 'DHCP Lease' (which assigns IP addresses to connected VPN clients) before I.
